Car deals are in all-time high again. Was into two different malls in the city yesterday, both displayed popular car manufacturers. To my amazement people are lining up in the enquiry desks. Oh, nothing wrong about inquiries, and, yes, nothing wrong with buying a new car – go ahead! If that’s your plan.

But lemme give you a few hint before getting a new vehicle.
It’s the “BER” months. Already. Almost closer to the end of the year. The time of the year when new car models, I say 2016 models are coming in. So, before deciding in driving home a new car, check what model year are you buying. Because definitely, dealerships are trying to “moved out” their current year’s inventories. Hence, we see dealers trying to lure buyers with freebies and other incentives.
Is this bad? I mean, buying current year’s vehicle models? I say Yes and No. It all depends on how long you’ll want to keep the car you’ll be buying.

Buying The Newest Year’s Car Model

When you are planning to buy a car you’re likely to sell in about 5 years or less then go for the newer model (the 2016 model) which, at this time, commands a higher price but will have a greater resale value than getting an older year model. Dealerships are bringing in next year’s car models, so don’t expect deals.

Buying The Current Year’s Car Model

If you are planning to buy a vehicle that you’re going to use for as long as it will be, you’re better off getting the current year’s model. You’ll get no fair discount on the original price, that I am sure. However, you’ll get extra freebies and lower down payment or additional number of months if you’re getting a car loan.

Car Year model may mean greatly to car enthusiasts whose pockets are too full they wanted to acquire the newest there is. For others, who saved greatly to buy the car they wanted and needed at the same time, it pays to wait a little longer – like these time of the year when previous year’s car models are a little cheaper.
